A short flight and a car waiting ready and waiting for you to jump into should really appeal.

London Stansted to Bergerac with flight links to Blackpool, Glasgow, Newquay and Newcastle.
Flybe : www.flybe.com
Bristol to Bergerac and Southampton to Bergerac with flight links from Bristol to Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester. Links from Southampton available to Newcastle.
If visiting the Dordogne then Bergerac is probably going to be your best choice, and its a good one too as its right in the centre of the region. Toulouse and Bordeaux, are a little further away but being international are very convenient and offer more choice on flights and times all year round.
Finally you could think about a flight to one of the smaller regional airports such as Brive, Rodez or Limoges.
